RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov 7 (Reuters) - Brazil's audit court, the TCU, will not immediately intervene in the decision by state-run oil company Petrobras to make a dividend payment, a minister said on Monday.

The preliminary decision comes days after the country's prosecutors asked to suspend the dividend payout as it could "compromise the financial sustainability of the company in the short, medium and long term," the request document showed.

TCU Minister Augusto Nardes told Reuters there is "no reason" for an emergency precautionary measure to stop the payment, adding that a final decision will be made on Dec. 29.

"I see no reason to alert and leave the market in a situation of instability," he said.

Last Thursday, Petrobras announced dividends of around 43.68 billion reais ($8.47 billion) to shareholders, after posting a stronger-than-expected third-quarter profit. ($1 = 5.1567 reais) (Reporting by Rodrigo Viga Gaier; Editing by Christopher Cushing)

리우데자네이루, 11월 7일 (로이터) - 브라질 감사원 TCU는 국영 석유회사 페트로브라스의 배당금 지급 결정에 즉각 개입하지 않을 것이라고 월요일 장관이 말했다.

이 예비 결정은 검찰이 "단기, 중기, 장기적으로 회사의 재정적 지속 가능성을 저해할 수 있다"고 배당금 지급을 중단해달라고 요청한 지 며칠 만에 나온 것이다.

아우구스토 나르데스(Augusto Nardes) TCU 장관은 로이터와의 인터뷰에서 지급 중단을 위한 긴급 예방 조치에 대해 "이유가 없다"며 최종 결정은 12월 29일에 내릴 것이라고 덧붙였다.

그는 "불안정한 상황에서 경고하고 시장을 떠날 이유가 없다고 본다"고 말했다.
